Flames Improve to 18-10 With Sweep

MLB Urban Youth Academy, Compton Ca - The Bethesda University baseball team was back in action against the University of Sioux Falls.  The Flames came into the game ranked #5 in the in the latest national poll. Sioux Falls came into the game with an overall record of 5-3.

In the first game, after two scoreless innings the Flames were able to score in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead.  Sioux Falls would respond in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 1-1.  The Flames would then have a monster inning and were able to score three runs in the bottom of inning.  That outburst would be what the Flames would need, they were able to hold on to the victory and win the game by a score of 4-1.

The Flames scored four runs on tweleve hits and committed two errors on the day.  Oscar Munoz picked up the win for the Flames.  He pitched eight innings, struck out eight, and gave up one run on the day.  Frankie Wright picked up the save for the Flames.

 

Game 2

During the second game, Sioux Falls was able to get on the board first.  They scored the first run of the game in the third inning before the Flames would answer with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 2-1 game.  The Flames would tack on an additional run in the bottom of the sixth, that would be enough to win the game by a score of 3-1

Logan Maxwell picked up the win for the Flames. He pitched four innings, struck out two, and gave up one run.  Daniel Arellano picked up the save for the Flames.

The Flames will be in action this weekend against the University of Antelope Valley. The game information is below.
