Flames Roll Past Providence To Reach 20 Wins

Anaheim, CA. - The Bethesda University baseball team reached 20 wins this week and they still have over a dozen games left. 

 

In game 1, The Bethesda Flames came out blazing.  They were able to put five runs on the board in the first inning.  The Flames would then score again in the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh to win the game by a score of 13-4.

 

The Flames would score 13 runs on 16 hits.  Not only were they red hot, the Flames did not commit any errors on the day.  Nathan Munoz had four hit for the Flames, Mario Gonzalez had three, and several Flames had two hits on the day.

 

Oscar Munoz pitched five innings and struck out four.  With the win Oscar Munoz moves to 6 wins on the young season.  He currently has a 2.51 ERA and has 60 strikeouts on the year.

 

Game 2

 

Game two started slower, Providence Christian College scored first and held the Flames scoreless going into the third inning.

 

The Flames would finally place two runs in the board in the top of the third.  They would follow that up with a run in the fourth and then they exploded for six runs in the fifth inning.  That would be the boost the Flames needed to win the game by a score of 9-2.

 

Frankie Wright pitched a complete game to earn the win.  With the win Frankie Wright moves to 4-2 on the year.  On the day, Nathan Munoz had two big games with multiple hits and RBI's. Munoz also hit his first Homerun of his college career.
