Unstoppable Flames Aim for the National Tournament

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Flames unite at the end of the season and hop on the winning streak. It has been an impressive weekend for Bethesda Flames, winning back-to-back games against Providence CC and Embry-Riddle and leaving the home field with the third win in a row. On Saturday, October 22, Flames finished the game 9-1 against PCC. The dominant of the team was our forward Cesar Pompa, whom no one could stop from giving his team 4 beautiful goals troughout the game, one of them assisted by Flames' goalie Oscar Gomez. Right after Cesar followed forward Diogo Pereira with 2 goals, Jesus Rojas with a goal, Konstantin Khan with a goal, and the captain of the team, Tae Young Kim, with an incontrovertible and precise penalty kick. The scorer of the Sea Beggars was their midfielder, Mynor Salguero, with one goal.

Yesterday's weather was testing both teams by giving a good rain shower throughout the whole game. Above all the obstacles, Flames didn't give up and ended the game 2-1 against Embry-Riddle Eagles. The scorers of the day for Flames were – Andre Morris and Jae Hyeok Choi. The scorer for Eagles was Lucas Vasconcelos. Despite Flames' unusual short bench, both coaches of the team, Yangho Lee and Richard Torvik, have managed to raise the confidence and focus in each of the players towards the end of the season to embrace the opportunity to be a part of the NCCAA National Tournament.

The last games of the season are at the end of this week; Flames will play their last home game against St. Katherine on Friday @7pm in Centennial Regional Park (Santa Ana) and on Saturday Flames will play at Soka @6pm. See you there! Go BU Flames!!!
