Bethesda Women’s Basketball Celebrates Multiple SWS All-Conference Honors
Mar 6, 2026

The 2025–26 season brought many challenges, growth moments, and opportunities for the Bethesda University women’s basketball program. Through that journey, several Flames players distinguished themselves with performances that earned recognition across the SWS Conference postseason awards.

At the forefront of that recognition are Mary Gonzales and Shyann Morreo, both named to the SWS Conference First Team All-Conference.

Throughout the season, Gonzales and Morreo consistently demonstrated leadership, resilience, and a competitive mindset that helped shape the identity of the team. Their impact went beyond statistics, setting the tone for their teammates through effort, accountability, and their willingness to compete every night.

Their recognition among the conference’s top players reflects not only individual talent, but also the commitment they showed to representing Bethesda Basketball with pride.

The Flames also saw three additional players recognized on the SWS Second Team All-Conference: Serina Quezada, Mizuki Higashijima, and Sophie Jimenez.

Each of these players played a vital role in the team’s development throughout the year.

Quezada brought energy and determination that often sparked the team in key moments. Higashijima’s versatility and basketball IQ allowed her to impact the game in multiple ways, helping the team stay connected and organized on the court. Jimenez’s presence and work ethic added strength to the roster, contributing to the team’s growth during the season.

Together, these five players represent the commitment, character, and work ethic that continue to define the Bethesda women’s basketball culture.

For the coaching staff, the recognition reflects something deeper than awards.

“These honors represent the daily work these players put in,” the staff shared. “They showed up, competed, and continued to grow throughout the season. We’re proud of how they represented Bethesda Basketball.”

As the program continues to build its identity and move forward, the recognition of multiple players across First Team and Second Team All-Conference selections serves as a testament to the direction and development of the Flames.

For Bethesda Women’s Basketball, these honors are not just an ending to a season — they are another step in the ongoing journey of the program.
